Arabian Horses for Humanity to Benefit Fort Hood Veterans and Families

The Region Nine Arabian Horse Club (a region of the Arabian Horse Association that represents a four-state region of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma), has donated one of the Arabian Horses for Humanity statues to Fort Hood.  The ultimate goal of the liaison with Fort Hood is to help raise awareness for veterans and the physical and emotional challenges they face that may be addressed with equine assisted therapy.

 

This donation is also made in conjunction and with the support of the "The All Glory Project" a 501c3 nonprofit organization that brings equine-assisted therapies to military veterans and their families.

Contest to Paint "Hero"

The 3d Cavalry Association of Fort Hood has kindly offered its assistance in launching a contest to paint the statue, assist in the promotion of this important project and to be the caretaker of the finished painted horse.  Those that may compete in the project are: active duty military, veterans, spouses of veterans, immediate family of veterans and first responders within a 50 mile radius of Fort Hood or currently stationed at Fort Hood.  Complete "Rules and Regulations" for the contest can be found below. The winning artist for the Ft. Hood Arabian Horses for Humanity project with receive a $1,000 award.
